Prim (Pasa Mangiok) is a young artist from Ivujivik, Nunavik, currently based in Montreal. She has been drawing since childhood and hasn’t stopped experimenting with art since then.
Her work includes painting, traditional art, print making, and digital art. “Art is where I get away from the world and let my creativity take over”, she says. “My inspirations are my dreams, my beautiful mother and other art I see on the internet”.
Since 2021, Prim takes part in Nunavik Sivunitsavut, a college-based program in Montreal that offers courses on Inuit and circumpolar history, politics, governance, culture, and language, from an Inuit perspective. She also recently secured an internship with Aumaaggiivik, the Nunavik Arts Secretariat at Avataq Cultural Institute.
